rockethome.jpgWelcome to Rocket Xtreme.

Rocket Xtreme is a collaborative STEM project between Minden High School in Louisiana and White Plains High School in New York. Teachers Lisa Dick and Laura Frauenberg have set up this site for students to use during their Rocket Xtreme Unit! Students will be introduced to the world of rocket science including Newton's Laws and apply this knowledge to a rocket competition which integrates 21st Century technology.

Rocket Xtreme integrates authentic hands-on, minds-on experimentation including many found in NASAs Rocket Educators Guide as well as those learned through the LSUS Cyber Camp. The activities and lessons emphasize hands-on science, prediction, data collection and interpretation, teamwork, and problem solving. Teams will compete for points through a variety of activities and projects. This unit supports national curriculum standards for science, mathematics, and technology.
